THE IBERIAN WEST ON STAGE

Every August, Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca) becomes an essential reference point within the current performing arts market, always keeping a special focus on the sector of the western Iberian Peninsula. With outstanding professional attendance, strong public participation, and an exceptional heritage setting, this event becomes a major promotional showcase for the professional companies that take part each year.

The innovation and quality of the selected proposals—an average of 40 multidisciplinary productions programmed each edition for all types of audiences—attract nearly three hundred professional entities every year. They attend this performing arts meeting, which also greatly contributes to the economic, tourist, social, and cultural development of the region.

A solid cultural project that strengthens culture in peripheral areas, energizes the performing arts sector, and promotes a professional meeting space offering accredited entities a valuable opportunity to discover new proposals, thanks to the strong involvement of the public, with more than 30,000 spectators at each edition.

The organization of the Fair is led by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, in collaboration with the City Council of Ciudad Rodrigo, the Provincial Council of Salamanca, and the Cívitas Association, and also features participation from other entities such as INAEM. It also has strong support from the local business community and the cooperation of other public and private organizations.
